Well Hello There!
Happy New Year, and welcome to 2017!
I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I think that 2016 was a majorly mediocre year. Although I made some lifelong friendships, and had some pretty cool experiences – 2016 was overall a bust.
So I am refusing to let 2017 be the same. So I thought I’d share my resolutions for this year with you in hopes that you’ll join me in some, or all of them! Now you’re probably thinking, “Why are you sharing your resolutions with us halfway into January? You’ve missed the boat on that one.” Well, it’s because I tend to break my resolutions by the third day in January (typical right?), so the wait was for good measure.
Without further adieu, here are my resolutions for 2017!
1. DRINK MORE WATER
This is something everyone should do! Staying hydrated has so many benefits for your body! It keeps your skin glowing, and actually helps you lose weight. Drink your water, people!
2. DRINK MORE WINE (…obviously)
Who doesn’t want to bring more wine into their life? If rumor has it, a glass of red wine is equivalent to an hour at the gym – I can get behind that one.
3. SWEAT EVERYDAY
Whether it’s a quick 15-minute run or a killer full-body workout, sweating feels great. Bring on the endorphins.
4. READ MORE
I’ve recently realized that I am seriously lacking in the literature department, so reading more books this year is a must.
5. KEEP IN TOUCH WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY
With friends and family all over the world, sometimes it is hard to stay in touch. Life gets busy, and relationships take the back burner. 2017 is the year to keep in touch and put serious effort into maintaining relationships.
6. WEAR LIPSTICK MORE OFTEN
Whether you’ve got a full glam look, or a “no-makeup” look, wearing lipstick pulls everything together. In 2016 I rarely wore lipstick, this year will be the opposite.
7. LIVE THE 80/20 LIFESTYLE
The hardest of all the resolutions. This means eating healthy 80% of the time, and indulging 20% of the time. Difficult, but attainable and worth it.
8. BLOG WEEKLY
A busy life has seemed to become a popular theme in my world, which means that most things get shuffled down on the priority list – blogging included. 2017 will be the year for me to prioritize and put blogging back up to the top of the list, where it belongs.
9. MOISTURIZE AND EXFOLIATE
These are two of the most important parts of a hygiene routine. One removes dead skin, and the other soothes and remedies dry skin. Whatever the case, no one wants dry skin. So moisturize and exfoliate, people!
10. DANCE MORE
A solid 15 years of my life was purely dedicated to dance. Dozens of competitions, costumes, shoes and performances – dance is one of the things that shaped me into who I am today. After a retirement that has lasted about 4 years, it’s time to bring dance back into my life on a more regular basis.
Let me know your resolutions for 2017!
